Frenetica began in the autumn of 2004 as a duo, Becky Ozuna and Charles Romalotti. Frenetica entered the studio in March 2005 to record four songs, No Caiga Para Kristina, Alabe Mama, Basta and Ver Te. Pleased with the results, the duo returned to record four more songs that broadened their range of sound and style, from acoustic crooners (Tía Rita) to ska-inspired dance (El Dia de la Reina), along with Jadeante and Pocha. The second session also incorporated a wider variety of tones and instrumentation, including flute, saxophone, timpani, and lead pipes!

With the completion of the second studio session, Christian Dukes joined the group. By the beginning of 2006 a third and final studio session, along with touch-ups on the first eight songs, completed the album that would become SkitzoFrenetica, including two songs featuring Christian's debut on vocals (adding a bilingual aspect to the group).

In the summer of 2006 following the completion of SkitzoFrenetica, Frenetica turned the trio into a five-piece lineup, with the inclusion of Timo Ozuna and Todd Perry. Frenetica is currently working on new material, and playing shows regularly throughout south and central Texas.

In late July 2007 Carlos Cantu replaced Timo Ozuna on bass. A month later, the band recorded three new songs in the studio, and completed its first video, for La Llorona, in the fall of 2007.
